Must-Try Vendors at the Uptown Phoenix Farmer’s Market

I love the Uptown Phoenix farmer’s market. It’s the best way for me to start my weekend; full of fresh produce, local shops and businesses, and the best vibe. During my time in Phoenix, I have really grown to the people, the businesses, and the atmosphere, and for me, the farmers market is just the focus of all of these three elements. It’s simply a really happy place, and one of the many gems I think that make Phoenix SO special.

Culture Crash Greek Yoghurt

This stall offers incredibly fresh Greek Yoghurt. I always stop by for one of their products on a Saturday morning!

Mediterra Bakehouse

This is another gorgeous produce stand! I often will buy a loaf of bread from this store each Saturday to last me the week. Both this stall and Noble Bread actually sell their produce to the local restaurants!

Noble Bread

Noble Bread is another delicious vendor I can’t get enough of. I typically buy a loaf from them, too! Between Noble Bread and Mediterra, I always have plenty of fresh bread to enjoy at home.

Sergio’s Kitchen

These breakfast burritos at Sergio’s Kitchen are amazing! They are served with a cilantro sauce that you can drink with a straw. At this point, I can’t really start my day until I eat one of their egg burritos! My Saturday is really made special by one of these breakfast treats.

Lillie Mae’s Blue Ribbon Pickled Garden

These pickles are made with an award-winning recipe and trust me, they are worth it! I recommend the cured garlic, pickled dilly beans, beets, and more. It’s just so unique and I love this stall so much.

The Uptown Farmer’s Market is part of the reason I love where I live. There are busy crowds full of authentic, genuine people that just want to have a lovely start to their weekend. The people are happy, their dogs are happy, and it’s just a really beautiful occasion! Phoenix is really full of little gems, and this farmer’s market is one of the main reasons I fell in love with the city. DIY Interior Design Project: The House on North Central

Recently, I completed an exciting interior design project on a house in North Central. My daughter came to visit from out of state. As she’s a therapist and a writer, she can work remotely. Obviously, I wanted her to feel as comfortable as possible for her work and visit here for my daughter’s visit. So, I set to work on my guest house and redecorated the interior. I didn’t realize that I would make the home interior so well that she still hasn’t left!

The home is in North Central, which means it is close to everything the Valley has to offer. It’s a great location, particularly for visitors! Here is how I made this home so welcoming that my daughter will (hopefully) never leave.

This home is small but so welcoming and warm!
Welcome Home!

For the majority of the interior, I went with a stark all-white and black theme. The added feature of a touch of sunshine throughout was a dramatic and bold choice, but it works. It really adds warmth and adds a depth to the home that we just love.

Pineapple is the universal symbol of hospitality.

I wanted to emphasize the welcoming and hospitable element of it, so I chose a pineapple statement feature. The wallpaper here was the foundation of this theme and it grew from there. Pineapple is the universal symbol of hospitality, and I think it works SO well here!

I love this vintage chandelier in my dining room.

I just love this vintage chandelier. It takes center stage in my dining room and I brought it from the home I grew up in, to this guest home for my daughter. It’s full of memories and I am so happy it is now in this home.

I am still putting the finishing touches on this home, but I love it already! With its pineapple access, black and white interior, and pops of yellow, it’s the perfect place to entertain. Maybe one day, I’ll put this house on the market! But for now, I love to have a place for family to stay and enjoy the gorgeous Phoenix Valley.

Home Buying: My Best Tips.

When you’re buying a home there’s no denying that there’s a lot to think about, but that doesn’t mean that the process needs to be stressful. Before you embark on the process there are certain things you need to read up on and familiarise yourself with to make the experience as seamless as possible. These tips can help you steer in the right direction if you’re considering buying a house in Phoenix or beyond in the near future!

Don’t Just Consider Your Home, But Consider Your Neighborhood

Well, this might seem like an obvious one, but it is also SO easy to get wrong! Your neighborhood is so important to get right when looking at your home. You want to have the right community feel, the right vibe, and the most accessible utilities and facilities for what YOU need.

Be Clear About What Matters to You

You want your new home to deliver what you need right now, or what you will need in the near future. Your house has to be able to fulfill your needs for the next few years, so make sure when you are searching for a home that you know what is important to you. These could be:

  • access to major roads;
  • public transport;
  • shopping or entertainment hubs;
  • schools;
  • cultural diversity.

Shortlist your suburbs that deliver on those needs and then look for homes within these areas!

Make Sure Your Home is Big Enough For You!

Whether you’re a family of one, or a family of seven, your home needs to be the right size for you. There are obvious needs that need to be met regarding the size of the home to the size of your needs, like enough bathrooms and bedrooms. If you don’t have to compromise on the size, then don’t!

Go With Your Gut

The tie-breaker with any home is the feeling. They emit feelings that will strike you as soon as you walk through that door. I always tell my clients that they will know if it is for them from the moment they step inside. Your home has to be the perfect fit for you. If you can find the right home in the right area AND it fits your budget, then, of course, that’s your winner.

With all my clients, I want people to get the right value when they purchase a property. This doesn’t have to be your forever home, but I want you to love where you live. I want you to feel thrilled about where you are, every time you wake up. That’s what I will search tirelessly for when people work with me!

The Three Best Neighborhoods in Phoenix, Arizona

Having lived in Phoenix for a fair few years and sold a LOT of houses to all sorts of people, I like to think that I know a thing or two about Phoenix’s neighborhoods. Every neighborhood I encounter in Phoenix is simply gorgeous, each one having its own sparkle and shine. However, certain areas stand out to me for different reasons, and this is due to the varying demographic of people I do real estate for. The three demographics I’m going to focus on for this blog are single people, career-minded people, and retirees.

The best neighborhood for singles

There is simply no doubt in my mind that the best area for single people is North Central. This neighborhood is busy and bustling; there is simply always something to do! It’s a real gem-find for those looking for love, connection, and activities. Your weekends will be filled with exquisite things from the farmer’s market to ample restaurants and independent local boutiques. One thing I really love about North Central is its people. They are all so kind and genuine, which gives the neighborhood a feeling of authenticity.

For those wanting to try out some delicious food, I recommend Otro Cafe! The manager, Ashley is simply outstanding. She’s adorable and sweet, and she has a great playlist in the restaurant. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the playlist is awesome. Go check it out!

The best neighborhood for career-minded people

For those that are on the fast-track to success, find a home in Arcadia. Not only is it a great location, but it also keeps you working and gives you a lot to aspire to. Designed for those that want the finer things in life, it suits both trendy and entrepreneurial people.

It’s a great neighborhood for all sorts of different industries, including those having to work from home! Because it is so walkable and accessible, it’s easy to take a break for lunch, switch up your work location, or go for a quick jog. If you fancy a meeting away from your Zoom camera, head to the Henry! It’s always filled with people having a work-meeting or lunch.

The best neighborhood to retire

You’ve worked hard in life, so you deserve an area that will now give you the best in everything. This is Biltmore. It’s classic and close to everything you’d ever need. Your days can now be filled with endless hobbies, activities, and discoveries. Why not take a class at the Botanical Garden? The classes there offer everything from cooking to photography.

If you’re looking for a neighborhood that will give you a great community spirit and encourage you to invest in yourself and your hobbies, Biltmore is the place for you. You can keep active, catch up with friends, and go for long walks in the gorgeous parks. You can even write that book you’ve always wanted to write while sipping iced tea at an outdoor cafe! You’ve worked your whole life for this moment, so make sure you enjoy it.

Well, there you have it! Three amazing neighborhoods for three amazing demographics. Make sure to come back to the blog and see what other neighborhoods would suit you!
